As of tomorrow and throughout the weekend, the Commission will host the pan-European #EUvsVirus Hackathon, under the patronage of Mariya Gabriel, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth.

Special sections in all Arqus universities for the confinement period

All Arqus universities have launched a special section on their websites to keep students and staff informed during this extraordinary period of confinement.

Our universities have adapted their services and activities to the quarantine circumstances, offering online teaching and keeping their services in remote.

The 4-day Refresher “Teaching in English“ course starts tomorrow!

The Refresher course, organized by the University of Graz, is part of a series of courses organized within the Action Line 4, Multilingual & Multicultural University of the Arqus European University Alliance. The course will be followed by the 4-day basic course called Certificate “Teaching in English”. Both courses will be offered online.

The Refresher course is intended for university teachers who are already familiar with the basics of English Medium Instruction (EMI). The world health crisis caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and the emergency measures in place in all of our countries mean that all of our Arqus universities have suspended in-class teaching activities and, in most cases, have temporarily ceased all other face-to-face activities, with our staff and students working and studying from home.

Arqus postpones its first Annual Conference due to the situation caused by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak

With deep regret, the Arqus European University Alliance informs you that the University of Lyon together with the Arqus Steering Committee have had to postpone the Arqus Annual Conference 2020, due to be held from the 16th to the 18th of March in Lyon. This is in accordance with official recommendations from the French health authorities and the Erasmus+ National Agency regarding the situation caused by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

The University of Graz offers a scholarship to Arqus students for the Graz International Summer School Seggau 2020


The University of Graz organises the Graz International Summer School Seggau 2020. Focusing on the emphasis areas of Southeastern Europe and North, Central and South America, the 15th edition of the summer school is titled Stability, Security, and Happiness: State – Society – Religion. The summer school will take place from July 5 to July 18, 2020 at Seggau Castle in Styria, Austria.


Arqus opens its first calls for Research Exchange Stays and Networking Site Visits

These programmes are addressed to PhD students, postgraduate students, early stage researchers, senior researchers and professors of the 7 universities that form the Alliance.

Among other activities, Arqus is meant to support research stays at one of the Arqus partner universities by funding travel expenses and providing opportunities for further intensified cooperation with the host university. It is also meant to support joint doctoral training within the group of partner universities by enabling site visits and joint activities.
