On the occasion of the LGBT Pride Day that is celebrated on June 28, Arqus has temporarily modified its official logo on social networks to show the support of the Alliance to the LGBT community, supporting the defense of their rights and the demand for equality in all those countries in which this community is not yet respected and treated equally.
In addition, Arqus has proposed to the members of the Alliance to do the same, contributing our grain of sand to temporarily more colorful social networks that give visibility to the LGBT community and thus showing our support for their fundamental rights and freedom. The Day of Teaching and Learning takes place every year in Leipzig. It gives a great opportunity for students, lecturers and staff not only from Leipzig University but also from all higher education institutions in Leipzig to exchange about the issues in teaching and learning.

Clear and correct pronunciation is crucial for successful communication. Since pronunciation problems can be persistent at all levels, pronunciation training should be included as a regular part of German as a foreign or second language instruction from the very beginning. Teachers need an extensive and varied inventory of methods in order to help learners achieve success.

The Alliance counts with 7 multidisciplinary partners that provide an endless resource of knowledge and initiatives. The University of Padua invites colleagues from all over the world to participate in the 1st virtual International Staff Training Week from the 15th to the 17th of June 2020.

The University of Lyon is launching two calls for applications addressed to its professors and researchers in order to support activities in collaborative research and innovative joint programmes.

At the beginning of the confinement, the University of Granada “tele-gathered” 70 members of its Orchestra and Choir to record the Gaudeamus of Resistance with a verse dedicated to the current situation caused by COVID-19. Even in the current situation, the Arqus European University Alliance wants to continue to strengthen research cooperation and to offer joint postdoctoral initiatives as a basis for the promotion of Early Stage Researchers. Therefore, as part of the upcoming MSCA Individual Fellowships call, both the two-day proposal writing workshop planned in Graz as well as the MSCA Marathon organised by Padua will be held online.
