The Student Representation of Vilnius University organises the virtual 16th Life Sciences International Conference “The COINS 2022” from 28th February to 3rd March.

As the past couple of years were rocked with the covid pandemic, many conferences had to be postponed, which meant students were presented with fewer opportunities to share their research. Thus Vilnius University has provided a great chance to do it during the last days of this winter at the virtual “The COINS 2022” conference. The event, organized by students of Vilnius University, aims to spread the news and science to other students and society.

Every year well-known scientists from Europe and USA are gathered. During the last three years, six Nobel prize winners have attended the conference: Professors Harald Zur Hausen, Erwin Neher, Ada Yonath, John O’Keefe, Jean-Marie Lehn, and Aaron Ciechanover. This year, professors R. Youle, A. Hudspeth, M. Schwartz, D. Baker, C. Cockell, R. Barzilay, EMBL director-general E. Heard will attend the event, among many others.

During the Conference, young scientists will present their research projects to colleagues and get valuable feedback from professionals in the fields: Astrobiology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Biology, Biomedicine, Biotechnology, Cell Biology, Genetics, Immunology, Microbiology, Molecular biology and (Neuro)biophysics.

“The COINS 2022” will be held on the virtual conference platform www.gather.town.
